Frank Lekaba is a Lecturer of Politics and International Relations at the North West University, South Africa. He focuses on African politics in areas of peace and security, foreign policies of African states, and relations among African states. He teaches Comparative Politics, African Politics, Political Philosophy and Political Development in Africa at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His keen interest is in the role of civil society organisations in the peacebuilding processes on the continent. His Doctoral thesis was on examining the role of civil societies in both Lesotho and Madagascar in the mediation and reconciliation processes respectively. His Masters dissertation was on “the impact of Ezulwini Consensus towards the UN Security Council reform”. He published a book chapter and a journal article on this issue. Prior to joining the North West University, he worked as a researcher for the Human Sciences Research Council, in the Africa Institute of South Africa. In this role, he embarked on Afrocentric research projects seeking to understand the role of Civil Society Organisations in the projects of Nation-Building and State Building on the continent. He is an associate of Democracy Without Borders since 2022.
